Book Club Tonight

My book club meets tonight at Old Town Coffee. We read The Almost Moon by Alice Sebold. It’s about a frustrated woman, Helen, who somewhat unintentionally kills her elderly mother. The book explores Helen’s past and what led to the murder. I found it depressing and didn’t really like it.

New laptop

Well, I got it an am happily playing with it. So far, I love it, love it, love it!

Laptops and More

Today I’m drolling over a laptop on sale at Best Buy. I want something more peppy for photo editing, etc. And something portable so I can put my genalogy and scrapbook stuff on one computer and not be going back and forth all the time. My only concern is that it only has HDMI and VGA video outputs, and my new monitor is DVI. But there is a HDMI to DVI cable that I’m pretty sure would work. Going to have to mull this over some more. I’m also considering a negative film scanner for all my negatives and slides. Scanning them on my flatbed scanner is extremely slow.
